Eurofarma unites modernization and security in patients´access to controlled drugs free samples, using AWS technologies
Eurofarma is a pharmaceutical multinational with 100% Brazilian capital. It operates in more than 20 countries in South and Central America, Caribbean and Africa, with ten factories distributed in Latin America. The company is a reference in the industry in medicines for central nervous system, anti-infectives and hormones, and stands out in the medical prescription, over-the-counter, generic, hospital, public procurement, oncology, third-party and veterinary pharmaceutical segments.
Based on AWS Digital Innovation area´s initiative with the application of the working model “Working Backwards” and Compass UOL support, Eurofarma restructured the sample distribution program, previously carried out exclusively in person. This joint work using agile frameworks such as Lean Inception and Product BackLog Building resulted in the creation of Salus platform, modernizing and implementing personalized discounts for patients. It has facilitated access to medication, ensured agility in financial transactions and kept all transactions protected and secure thanks to the adoption of blockchain technology provided by the AWS Managed Blockchain service.
Eurofarma was looking for agility in the modernization of the sample distribution process, which was previously carried out exclusively in person, in the offices, during the service. The pharmaceutical industry is traditional and digitization is a barrier for doctors and patients. Compass UOL supported Eurofarma in the organization and development of the work methodology for the construction of the digital product.
Personalized discounts for the patient: to support the treatment prescribed by the doctor from the beginning and in the continuity of it, discounts are applied on medicines from Eurofarma group that refer to the treatment.
Easy access to medication: the doctor will be able to distribute tokens that will give access to the initial treatment to their patients through the platform.
Agility in financial transactions: drug delivery and reimbursement to partners in a transparent and non bureaucratic way.
Protected and secured transactions: blockchain technology uses encryption mechanisms in order to ensure that transactions between chain participants are transparent, secure and immutable.
